🎓 Essential Qualifications
- 🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or
- 🔹 Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or institute
Note: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
📝 Duties of Drug Inspector
- ✅ Duties and functions specified in Rules 51 and 52 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945
- ✅ Inspection of all licensed drugs manufacturing establishments
- ✅ Inspection of plant, process of manufacture, means for standardizing and testing the drug, methods and place of storage, technical qualifications of staff
- ✅ Taking samples of drugs from premises of manufacturer/dealers for test or analysis
- ✅ Investigation of cases of spurious drugs and related complaints
- ✅ Launching of prosecutions for breaches of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules

🇮🇳 Citizenship
A Candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962, or (e) a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries with intention of permanently settling in India. Certificate of eligibility required for (b) to (e).
