INST Mohali – Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) Recruitment | ICMR Project
Applications are invited from highly motivated and bright candidates for engagement of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in the research project funded by ICMR, Government of India, at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali.
Title of the Research Project : Noninvasive and in situ forming peptide-polymer hydrogel containing CPP decorated nanoparticles/photoresponsive agents with crystallin aggregates disaggregating propensity for potential cataract therapy
Nature of the Project : The computational & bio-informatic part of the project will be conducted in strong collaboration with the experimental counterparts

Essential Qualification : First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG Degrees (Computational Biology/Chemistry/Physical Chemistry/Bio-Sciences/Bioinformatics) and also qualified in national level eligibility tests (e.g. NET/GATE/GPT/DST INSPIRE)
Desirable Experience : Research experience in Computational Biology/Chemistry and Bioinformatics, Molecular Dynamics Simulations, programming knowledge in Python, and experience in handling big data and Data Analysis, Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Machine Learning Force Field (MLFF)
Age limit : Must not be over 35 years as of 28.07.2026. Which is relaxable for specific reserved categories as per the rules of the Government of India.
Fellowship : Rs. 56,000/- pm + HRA as applicable
Duration : Initially one year and may be extended based on the candidate’s performance and availability of funds. Co-terminus with project.
- The position is purely temporary and on contractual basis and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum till the completion of the project.
- The position is co-terminus with the project.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark sheets, and other testimonials must be presented along with the self-attested photocopies of these documents at the interview (when the interview will take in person).
- Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated through email to appear in the interview
